Price of Life

Posted: April 27, 2010 in Uncategorized

If there was a conflict in life worth killing a man then gladly I would

But is there an evil so great that it can only be overcome with evil

If there is an evil so great then killing we should

But is it possible for healing to come from wounding people

If that is possible then war is justified

But is there enough reason for this crime

If there is then there is no crime and indeed no need to be tried

These questions can only be answered with time

Its only right that we ask ourselves is it worth the risk

Since when did the cost of life become so low

That we would kill just to prove democracy rules with an iron fist

That we kill just for more oil to flow

I’m convinced war is to great a strife

When you come to understand the price of a life

How about going to war to save more lives? I am against war but it is at times inevitable. Sounds like an unfair justification but that’s the way it is and that’s the way our world will be unless by some miracle no one is evil enough to kill a person, which I don’t see happening any time in the next million years. Just wanted to add a bit of realism in an otherwise solid argument.

i agree with you lol i wrote this for a school thing so i didnt wanna waiver and have a stance in between, but wars in most recent times i would def say dont have very good cause

mm i agree with minsoo. i really like how you structured this with the “If”‘s and “But”‘s

“I’m convinced war is to great a strife

When you come to understand the price of a life”
the last lines are my favorite because it’s like bamm! and it rhymes too. hehe

just a thought about the price of life: i get that in a democracy we have to make decisions based on what’s best for the majority of the population. Still, it gets to me that to most politicians, the lives of people they affect are mere numbers.
